GrabBack
Philosophy:
Back Up What Matters Most
Backups Made Simple
GrabBack
is all about
backing up your most important files fast and often. After
a day's work on an important project can you risk not
having a backup? Of course not. But programs crash, files
get messed up, and hard drives fail. Don't take a chance.
Grab your backups and take a safe copy with you every day.
Full backups are important, too, but most people rarely do
them—if at all—because backing up the whole computer takes
time and money. We think you should back up what you just
worked on. After all, if you back up what you do every time
you do it, you'll have it all.
Backing up should be so easy that you can do it without
thinking. Are you tired of clicking around looking for
files just so you can copy them someplace else that is just
as hard to find? GrabBack
will remember this
for you and take the guesswork out of backing up what you
need.
A Better Approach to Backing Up
So is the stuff you worked on yesterday really backed up
safe and sound? Probably not. What about that stuff from a
week ago? Probably not. But do you really need to back up
your entire hard drive right now? Probably not.
Instead, start small. Just grab a quick backup of what
matters most. First identify a few folders and files that
you work on often. For example, a current project, roll of
pictures, or an artwork folder. With GrabBack
you can quickly
create and remember backup “sets” by dragging related
things into a list. Group your backup sets according to
projects or hotspots where files change often. This makes
backing up faster and more targeted.
We recommend you use an inexpensive USB thumb drive (key
drive, flash drive) for your backups. Have one already?
Just drop GrabBack
on your keydrive
and create a folder for your backups. That's all you need
to get started.
GrabBack
will take a
snapshot of every file and folder you put into your active
backup set. It will archive and compress the data into a
single file. Nice and neat. There is never any risk of
overwriting original files or previous backups. GrabBack
uses a unique timestamping system to make sure you know you
have the latest backed up where you want it.
